Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 July 2026.
This is a working draft, not a finished legal document.
It accurately describes what the platform actually does with data today, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before you rely on it as your binding policy or use it to satisfy a registration requirement with Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
1. Who we are
THE HYPE HOUSE is a business and event consulting platform based in Kumasi, Ghana. This policy covers the website and account system at this domain, including business and government paperwork services, Buy Airtime & Data, Event Services, the vendor booking marketplace, the wallet, Customer Reviews, the Upcoming Events feed, and the chat assistant.
2. What we collect
We collect only what each feature you use needs to work:
- Account details — full name, phone number, and email when you create an account.
- Requests and orders — contact name, phone, email, and any notes you provide when you submit a paperwork service request, buy airtime or data, book an event, or request a vendor. Guests can use several of these without an account, using the contact details entered on the form instead.
- Wallet activity — your deposit and spending history, tied to your account.
- Customer reviews — your rating, sentiment tag, and comment. If you leave a review without an account, we also ask for an email or phone number, used only so we can follow up if a review needs it — this contact detail is never published.
- Event posts — anything you enter when publishing to the Upcoming Events feed: title, description, venue, date/time, rate/ticket info, a flyer image, and a contact number. Unlike the fields above, everything you enter here is shown publicly to anyone who visits the site, including the contact number — don't include a number you don't want public.
- Chat messages — questions you send the chat assistant. If it can't answer confidently and forwards your question to our team, that question (and any contact details you chose to share in the chat) is kept so we can respond.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Paystack, our payment processor. We never receive or store your card number or mobile money PIN; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed.
3. How we use it
To fulfil the request or order you submitted, process payment, respond to questions, show you your own order/wallet history, and publish content you've chosen to make public (event posts, reviews). We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the platform, each acting as a processor on our behalf:
- Paystack — processes payments; receives your payment details directly, not through us.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
- Vercel — hosts the website itself.
- Anthropic — generates chat assistant replies. Only the text of your message is sent, not your account or order details.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active or as needed to resolve a request, plus any period we're required to retain financial records for. Guest order data tied to a reference code is kept on the same basis, even without an account attached to it.
6. Your rights
You can review and correct your account details any time from Edit profile. To ask what data we hold about you, request a correction we can't make ourselves, or request deletion, contact us using the contact details on this site. We'll respond in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), balanced against any legal or financial record-keeping obligations that require us to retain certain data regardless.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in between visits. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Security
Data access is controlled row-by-row in our database so accounts can only see their own records unless something is explicitly public (like a review or an event post). All traffic to the site is encrypted (HTTPS). Card and mobile money details never reach our servers at all — see section 4.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data: see the contact details in the site header and footer.
